CLEMSON POLICE: SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF A MINOR, THIRD DEGREE
CITY OF CLEMSON, SC – Detective Owens conducted a follow up investigation on a trafficking in cocaine arrest made by Sgt. N. Millspaugh in which 29 year old, Danny Eugene Goreta of Seneca, was arrested. Detective Owens applied for and obtained a search warrant of Goreta’s electronic devices and the search revealed over one hundred videos of juveniles engaged in sexual activity that were purchased over the internet. The discovery of these videos was shocking, disturbing, and horrific. Goreta was additionally charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, third degree and is currently in the Pickens County Detention Center with no bond.
This investigation is still on-going as Detective Owens works with the South Carolina Attorney General ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) Task Force.
The Clemson Police Department would like to thank the Anderson and Oconee County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office for their assistance in this case. Chief Campos would like to commend all of the law enforcement officers for their efforts in detecting and investigating this horrific crime. These investigations are difficult to handle and create mental images that investigators will have to deal with for years to come.
