The host of a party that gets out of control can now be held responsible. There is a level of responsibility that goes along with hosting a party; especially when alcoholic beverages are going to allowed. The objective of the ordinance is to ensure party hosts take that responsibility seriously. The host must take steps to prevent underage drinking to occur; we understand you cannot stop it completely however, there are steps you can take to make underage consumption difficult. Party hosts need to take in consideration their surrounding when hosting a party; who their neighbors are; parking availability; and the type of party of party they are hosting.
An out of control party is defined as a social gathering where the public safety, health, peace and welfare is threatened and / or disturbed.
